Reserve the dates! Come join us for the annual Vegas Dance Explosion being held at the fabulous Riviera Hotel and Casino. Register before the deadline and take advantage of the special discounted early bird prices! We will have 5 days and nights of line dance fun in exciting Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world! We begin Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 with a Welcome Dance and end Sunday night, November 22nd, 2009 with our Spectacular Show and Farewell Dance. Workshops will begin at 10:00 AM with 1 1/2 hour lunch breaks and 2+ hour dinner breaks to give you a chance to eat and "recharge" for more dancing! We offer repeat workshops throughout the 5 days. If you love to line dance, we promise that you will get your fix at this event! If you are just starting out, we will also have beginner workshops just for you!. The Vegas Dance Explosion will be held at the beautiful Riviera Hotel and Casino located on the famous Las Vegas Strip. The Riviera is known for it's spacious Convention Center where all the workshops will be held. Enjoy a smoke free environment - the guest room elevator locations allow you easy access to the ballrooms so you can walk from your hotel room to the ballrooms without having to walk through the casinos. The Riviera hosts refurbished oversized rooms that offer a breathtaking view of the glittering Las Vegas Strip. ORIGINAL CHOREOGRAPHY SCORING FORMAT -
100 POINTS POSSIBLE

The competition will be divided into three divisions:

Division 1: Beginner - Country and Non-Country

Division 2: Non-Phrased - Country and Non-Country Intermediate-Advanced

Division 3: Phrased - Country and Non-Country Intermediate-Advanced

Judges will use the following criteria to evaluate each dance entered in competition

Originality, uniqueness of dance movements and steps. 0-15 points
Flow of dance and combination of dance steps. 0-30 points
Compatibility of dance steps with music 0-25 points
Artistic interpretation of the dance music selected. 0-15 points
Step description - accuracy, terminology, comprehensive value. 0-10 points
Correct identification of dance level and category as written on step sheet. 0-5 points

The entry fee is $20.00 per dance, per division. Only one dance per
choreographer (includes dances choreographed by multiple choreographers)
may be entered in each division

Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis depending on available slots.
Qualified entries must have their final step description along with a copy of their music
on CD, submitted by November 1st, 2009.

Competitors are also responsible for bringing a separate copy of their music on a CD the
day of the competition. All copies of submitted music from competitors will not be returned.

Submitted dances must have been choreographed between November 1, 2008
and November 1, 2009

Questions on administration and/or execution of the competition should be directed to the
event directors or head judge.

There is no specific dress code; please dress in a manner deemed proper and appropriate
by the general dance public.
